The next lunch at the RSL will be on the 24th of June at noon, the next coffee and chat will be on Saturday the 25th of June at the shack.
In July our first RSL lunch will be on the 8th of July and the first coffee and chat will be on the 9th of July. This may be in the Watchmans House, more information next week. The July General Meeting will be on the 21st of July and will be a talk by Rod Cunningham, VK5UV, about a Remote station he is setting up near Clare. Lunch at the RSL will be on the 22nd of July and the coffee and chat session will be on the 23rd of July. The Church have found us some storage space at the venue and we will be able to store our magazines and library at the venue soon. The other stuff we do not need access to at meeting Geoff has offered us storage space at his QTH. Pat and I are hoping to meet with the new manager of the BUC next Friday to see what storage space they have to offer. Some of the committee worked on sorting out stuff at the shack recently and we tossed out a lot of “CRAP” and Jim took a load of scrap to the scrap metal place and collected $159.00 for it, what a BIG surprise, thanks Jim. This process will continue on the 2nd of July. The local National Trust people are keen to get us to use the Watchmans House in Coromandel Valley, not far away from where we now meet but the ladies who look after the shack want us to keep using it for as long as it is available. We are going to look at having one of our coffee and chat sessions a month at that venue, stay tuned for details. I am hoping we can re start our technical talks at the shack on the fourth Saturdays soon. I have had some interesting topics suggested in response to my call for speakers at General Meetings. One or two of the topics would be more appropriate for a technical session at the shack as we will need two hours to do them justice. As there are five Fridays in July we will have a Brunch on the 30th of July starting time 10.00 AM and the price $5.00 per person. At this time I guess it will still be at the old shack site but if we are tipped out by then it will be at the Watchmans House 360 Main Road Coromandle Valley. Please book your attendance at the event with Pat “patstorr@adam.com.au” by email or in person tonight. The menu for the Brunch will be:- Tea and coffee, cereals and fruit, toast and jam, pan cakes and syrup and bacon and eggs. Wishing you all a pleasant week, stay safe and away from covid, Phil VK5SRP -- Cheers Phil Storr PO Box 501 Modbury South Australia 5092 philipstorr.id.au philstorr@adam.com.au VK5SRP
