Hello All Fellow Ham Operators,
This is John, VK5RJ with this week’s news from AHARS, the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society. A committee meeting was held on Saturday and many new and exciting things were discussed, specifically about the creation of sub-committees to deal with specific things such as Training. We would like to acknowledge the efforts of previous committee Geoff (VK5TAW) and his lovely wife Christine for their many years of service to AHARS. Geoff has decided that it is time to retire, and he rightly deserves to do so. Christine for many years helped with the supper that was enjoyed each monthly meeting night. Again many thanks Geoff and Christine If anybody has any ideas on somebody who might be willing to give a presentation to us at a monthly meeting, please drop me an email and let me know. I will be looking for somebody to put up there hand to head up a small sub-committee to look after this task (are you there VK5ZBD )? I will have more to tell you about these sub-committees as we get them established. Don't forget that our next general meeting on the third Thursday of next month (16th March) will be a Club Buy and Sell event, so bring along a pocket of cash, and all those unwanted items that are cluttering up you shack that you haven't used in ages. There will be quite a few items from Silent Key Estates on the table, so you can grab a few bargains. I hope this finds you all well and in good spirits and that's all for now from me, so stay away from COVID and other nasty bugs, and keep up the QSOs. Good morning folks, here is the latest notes from AHARS, 07022023
We have a new president to take over from me at the AGM, John Kent VK5RJ. Thanks John, I was not looking forward to my seventh year at the helm of AHARS. Under our old constitution I was limited to just three years. To make Johns task easier I am looking at creating a new committee position, the "Immediate past president", we can do this at the AGM on the 16th of this month. Barry also believes he has a new Vice to take over from him. We have a lunch at the RSL next Friday (the 10th) at 12 noon and a coffee and chat on Saturday morning ( the 11th) at 10.00 AM. We may have to make these sessions a week later ? We are hoping we can get back to having technical sessions on a Saturday morning. 73, Phil VK5SRP |
