Regular keynote speakers.

Most meetings have an experienced, qualified speaker address the group.
Topics range from the simple and practical to the occasional highly technical or light-hearted dissertation.

Visits to other clubs and venues

Examples include the Port Adelaide Military Museum; the former OTC station at McLaren Vale (now allied to the South Coast Amateur Radio Group); the ABC; the Weather Bureau.


 
Buy and Sell

Two Buy and Sell events are conducted per year.
A Buy and Sell for members only is held at the club early in the year.
The main event is held  in November.

You can arrange for a table to sell your wares or just peruse the numerous items on display that are for sale. This event is open to the public

Club Net

Every Monday night. 8 pm to 9:30 pm. On repeater VK5RAD (147.00 MHz, -600 KHz offset).
All welcome.

 
Field Days

Once or twice a year, members are invited to participate in radio activities in various locations. These activities provide a good opportunity to learn contesting and other skills, and to socialise with other members.

In July and December members meet for a club dinner.
In January, we usually have a club barbeque.

The AHARS Club QSL Manager handles incoming and outgoing Club (VK5BAR) QSL cards. Members may deliver their own cards to the Club Manager to send on to the VK5 QSL manager, but it’s quicker to post them to him direct:

Stephan will post them to the WIA Outwards QSL Bureau.

INCOMING

Cards received by the WIA Bureau will be posted direct to the Club QSL Manager by the VK5 QSL manager. The Club QSL Manager will distribute cards at club meetings, or post them out if a member cannot make meetings.
